Screens for French doors - wooden
Measurement instruction.
1. Measure the smallest clear door opening size (width x height) of the French door after it has been opened, e.g. 750 x 2100. Notice: in case of French door with a drip cap, the height should be measured to the drip cap.
2. In case of PVC French door, about 30 ≈ 40 mm margin should be added, e.g 750 +
(30 ≈ 40 mm) and 2100 +
(30 ≈ 40 mm); for wooden French door with a drip cap: 750 + (30 ≈ 40 mm) and 2100 + 15mm
3. For the measurements specified below another condition must be fulfilled – door frame circumference must be visible in the wall (40mm). In other cases, measurements should be taken individually and adjusted to the specific conditions.
4. The height of crossbar fixed in the middle of the screen should be given. The crossbar of the should overlap the one in the door frame if there is one.
5. The kind of door should be specified (left or right). The kind of door depends on the side the hinges have been fixed to the frame . When you stand opposite the screen and its hinges are on the right, you deal with a right door, if the hinges are on the left, it’s a left door.
Installation method
1. The screen to be installed should be put on to the door frame so that it overlaps the frame all along its circumference.
2. Using a pencil, mark the position of hinge bases on the frame and outline them.
3. Remove hinge bases by taking out metal bolts.
4. Put hinge bases onto the outlines you have made on the frame and mark the places to fit the screws.
5. With a drill (1 mm in diameter) make holes to fit the screws.
6. Screw the hinge bases onto the frame, install the screen by placing metal bolts into the hinge bases.
7. Finally, after the screen has been attached , fix the magnetic locks on the other side of the frame.
